Our 2nd annual PTA St Georges Night celebration was another huge success.
As the sun went down and the lights dimmed, the fabulously decorated school hall came to life with an array of flashing lights, fantastic fancy dress costumes and many a great groovy mover, throwing shapes around a packed dance floor.
Cheese wasn’t just in the freshly prepared Ploughmans, cheese was the main theme of the night. A chance to go down memory lane and let your hair down with many a good ‘time tunnel’ track being belted out from the 70’s right through to the 90’s.
With our honary guest ‘St George’ and his team working behind the bar, the drinks were freely flowing, giving many of our guests that extra bit of confidence to strut their stuff on the dance floor.
The evening flew by, so much so that we almost forgot the raffle! Fantastic raffle prizes were sourced by one of our team, prepared and wrapped beforehand - with plenty of tickets sold on the night. A huge thank-you must go out to all the local pubs and restaurants who donated vouchers.
Finally, a tremendous thank-you must go out to all the committee and ‘friends of the PTA’ who put in so much time, energy and enthusiasm before, during and on Sunday morning (to clear up), to ensure the evening was such a tremendous success. Without the committee’s willingness and enthusiasm to give up their free time, these events just wouldn’t happen.
A thoroughly enjoyable night was had by all, with substantial funds raised for the school.
